This very old and all-in-one-block vineyard is located on the great clayey-gravelly soils of Lussac; Château La Grande Clotte is Michel Rolland's fifth right-bank wine.
On the 7-hectare red-vine vineyard, some are more than 60-year-old. A replanting programme is currently in progress and would spread over the time, in order to avoid the rejuvenation of the classic and historical grapes.
With all the cares given to the vineyard: thinning out of the leaves, green harvest, in addition to a patch-by-patch harvest at full ripeness and in little baskets, a double-sort, fermentation with thermoregulation, Château La Grande Clotte benefits from all the experience of Rolland's team.
An ageing in small tanks and an early bottlingallow the preservation of the fruit and the freshness, which add to the strength given by the great vineyard area and the age of some of its vine stocks.
