Mariflor Pinot Noir 2017 - Rolland Collection

Mariflor Pinot Noir 2017 Mendoza Argentina

100% Pinot Noir

“A focus and serious Pinot”

Lovely, intense colour scattered with orangey highlights.

The fruity nose is charming and very enticing.

Acidity and freshness come to the fore on the palate, accompanied by wonderfully silky tannins. All in all, a very well-balanced wine!

A great wine enjoyable within the next seven to ten years.

Michel Rolland

Despite its compact dark purple grapes, Pinot juice is colourless; this explains that, once vinified with a specific method, this same juice is used to make Champagne. As A. Tchelistcheff said: “Chardonnay is a red wine disguised as a white, Pinot Noir is a white wine disguised as a red”.

What better claim to fame for this most aristocratic variety than to sire the greatest wines of Burgundy and Champagne!

And what a challenge for us, natives of Bordeaux, to attempt to tame this noble and sensitive Burgundy prince !

Four hectares of Pinot Noir were planted in 2002, the unique plot of land with this grape-variety on the Campo of Clos de los Siete.

The first Mariflor Pinot Noir was made in 2005.

Mariflor Pinot Noir 2017 - Rolland Collection 94/100
The strawberries and hints of rose petals are very pretty here. Medium to full body, firm and silky tannins and a delicious finish. Hints of cedar. A focused and serious pinot.
Mariflor Pinot Noir 2017 - Rolland Collection 91/100
This is a heady, showy, ripe and hedonistic Pinot Noir, intense and pungent, with a powerful palate that has an XXL balance between its components. I wouldn't expect less from Rolland. Luis Guttierez
