Mariflor Sauvignon Blanc 2018 - Rolland Collection

Mariflor Sauvignon Blanc 2018 Mendoza Argentina

100% Sauvignon Blanc

A memorable vintage in Mendoza.

Pale golden colour with green highlights.

Floral notes of buttercups and boxwood come to the fore, showing greater aromatic complexity compared to younger vintages.

Inviting and full-bodied on the palate, with a really surprising structure and wonderful development. Like a lot of our older vintages, it will make for an excellent Sauvignon Blanc that proudly acts its age.

Michel Rolland

They think 2018 is a truly memorable vintage in Mendoza, and the 2018 Mariflor Sauvignon Blanc was produced with very ripe grapes with high acidity from Vista Flores in the Valle de Uco. They fermented the juice with selected yeasts in small concrete eggs, stainless steel and 20% in new French barriques, where the wines were intensely worked with the lees for six months before the three components were assembled. It's intensely aromatic, with strong and pungent varietal notes of gooseberries, Buxus and cat's pee. It has an herbal and fresh character despite the high ripeness and alcohol, which gives the wine a sweet finish. Closer to a wine from New Zealand than from the Loire.
